A BILL ENTITLED
AN ACT concerning
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - Prince George's County - Prohibition of Gun Shows

FOR the purpose of prohibiting gun shows on Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission land and certain other property located in Prince George's County; providing a certain exception to the prohibition of gun shows; defining a certain term; and generally relating to gun shows and the use of Maryland- National Capitol Park and Planning Commission land and property located in Prince George's County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 28 - Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 28 - Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission

(a) (1) [The] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION THE Commission may make rules and regulations for the government and use of all land or other property acquired by it or under its jurisdiction. It shall cause these rules and regulations to be posted outside each park headquarters building, community center, recreation center, or similar building in a developed park area. Following their promulgation, they shall be publiched at least three times within 60 days, in one or more newspapers published in the metropolitan district and the posting and publication shall be sufficient notice to all persons. The sworn certificate of any member of the Commission of the Commission of the posting and publication shall be prima facie evidence thereof.
(2) (I) IN THIS PARAGRAPH, "GUN SHOW" MEANS AN ORGANIZED GATHERING THAT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND CONDUCTED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISPLAYING FIREARMS FOR SALE OR TRANSFER.
(II) THIS PARAGRAPH DOES NOT APPLY TO FIREARMS SOLD OR TRANSFERRED AT THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY TRAP AND SKEET CENTER.
(III) A PERSON MAY NOT CONDUCT A GUN SHOW ON COMMISSION LAND AND OTHER PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY OR UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE COMMISSION IN PRINCE GEROGE'S COUNTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect October 1, 2001.
